The castle, 2018 (selection)

The series was created when I arrived in the United States, a white immigrant coming from France to live on indigenous land, on Lenape territory, also known as the mid-Atlantic region. I explore the history of the land, and how people embody that collective memory. The series gathers photographs from simultaneous projects; photographs of local industrial sites, a photographic correspondence with people incarcerated in Pennsylvania prisons, portraits of Allie, a Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape tribal princess, and portraits made during historical events, fairs and political gatherings.
